The participants for the 2017 Food & Farm Experience have all been notified of their acceptance and the class includes career counselors from across New York State.
The two-day event will be held in Rome, NY, from Oct. 18-20 and focuses on learning about agriculture and making connections with a full array of people connected to farming, food production, and agricultural education opportunities. The 35 participants involved in middle and high school career exploration and development includes two “industry representatives” to compliment the diversity. The participants will connect with an industry that offers more than 300 agriculture-related career opportunities, which will offer their students and our next generation an abundance of opportunities.
The FFX agenda is in the final stages of development and will be packed with essential and useful information about agriculture. The materials provided will include the tools, resources and connections needed to assist their students who may be interested in agricultural careers. Participants will visit a variety of agricultural business on their tour, and workshops will take them to many other potential agricultural career destinations during the Experience, from farm to fork. We are excited about this program and want to thank all who helped us to spread the word throughout our local communities. Watch for more updates about the Food & Farm Experience.
