The Silent Auction room at the 2017 NYFB State Annual Meeting was filled to capacity with amazing items thanks to our many supporters, businesses, organizations, FFA and county Farm Bureaus. It was a delightful way to shop and support.
The overwhelming number of unique items appealed to a diverse group. There was something for everyone. The Live Auction complimented the festivities and the fundraising. Items included a custom designed and created one-of-a-kind “farm implement table” by Jay Douglas; a local, handmade Amish Rocker from Mike Settle; a $1,000 certificate from DuPont Pioneer for corn, soybeans and forage inoculant; a Blue Apron Package and a Feast ticket and overnight accommodations sponsored by Melissa Mirabile; and beautiful handmade unique John Deere Corn Hole Boards from Madison County; and last but not least, five terrific ties courtesy of Bill Magee.
The Executive Club drawing winner for a collection of Foundation resources was Columbia County Farm Bureau, and the “Bottle Grab” raffle grand prize went to Rodney Anderson form Long Island. Rodney also was lucky enough to pick a bottle with a dot that entitled him to another bottle! Our biggest bottle dot winner was John Wagner, who left the auction with five great bottles of New York wine.
These State Annual Meeting events brought in funds that will provide more tools and resources to promote and educate about the agricultural industry. The proceeds from the live and silent auction plus the bottle grab raffle will definitely provide needed support to continue our success stories.
